Many popular proverbs and aphorisms inherited through generations were greatly urging the need to do good and favor, some of which were promising that every good deed would have its return on another day, and others were urging to do good without even waiting for thanks or a beautiful response one day. Or praise from people and do good only for the sake of God.

Among the most famous of these popular proverbs is the proverb that says: “Do good and throw it into the sea” or “Do good and throw it into the sea,” about which the book “Slang Proverbs” by Ahmed Taymur Pasha said that it comes to exaggeration in urging people to do good, even if it is lost to the one with whom it was made. Do not think before you do a good deed, whether the recipient will thank you or not, and it is a popular proverb in many Arab countries as well.

There is another proverb similar to it, which says: “Do good with those who are worthy and those who are not.” The same book said about him that he strikes to urge to do good purely for God’s sake, without looking at the deserving and unworthy.

In addition to another proverb that says, “If you do good, you will consult.” That is, if you are determined to do good, then proceed to implement it, and do not consult anyone about his work, as he may discourage you from doing good and discourage you.
