The Prime Minister, Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, affirmed that the Palestinian right to establish an independent Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, according to the two-state solution, was, is, and will remain at the top of Jordan’s agenda under the leadership of King Abdullah II.

This came during his sponsorship today, Sunday, of the Iftar of the Department of Palestinian Affairs, service committees, advisory bodies, and popular activities in the camps.

Al-Khasawneh reaffirmed, in his speech during the ceremony, that the Palestinian cause “is our central cause, and the establishment of a fully sovereign Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967 AD with East Jerusalem as its capital, the embodiment of the right of return and compensation, and addressing all final status issues, is a supreme strategic interest.” Jordan, just as it is in the supreme interest of the Palestinian people and their leadership.

He also indicated that a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue is a priority and an international interest. Stressing, “Without the end of the occupation, it is not possible to reach peace and stability in the region, and what goes beyond it will have an impact on international peace and security.”

He reaffirmed Jordan’s total rejection of any attempts to divide temporally or spatially in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif; He said: “This spot of dear Palestine is a special and exclusive place of worship for Muslims, and any Israeli attempts to do otherwise is a condemned and rejected aggression, and we will not accept it in any way.”

The Prime Minister pointed out that Israel, as the occupying power, practiced all kinds of aggression and violations against the brotherly Palestinian people, and tried at all stages to change the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its sanctities, stressing in this regard the importance of the Hashemite Custodianship over the Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem.

Al-Khasawneh said: “How would the reality in Jerusalem and its sanctities have been without the Hashemite Custodianship and the associated enablers on the ground, at the legal and diplomatic levels, and the international consensus on them, which always put the occupation in a place of condemnation, and at the same time forced it to back down from its plans regarding Jerusalem and its sanctities.”

The Prime Minister affirmed that the Hashemite Custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, and preserving the historical and legal status quo in the holy sites is an honor, responsibility, trust and duty that King Abdullah II undertakes in his capacity as the guardian of these holy sites with all ability, steadfastness and fortitude, stressing that we adhere to this guardianship that will continue to be rejected and resisted. Any Israeli plans, procedures or violations regarding these sanctities and towards the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Noble Sanctuary.

Al-Khasawneh said: “Sovereignty over East Jerusalem is Palestinian and the guardianship over its Islamic and Christian holy sites is historical Hashemite,” stressing that the reality now and will remain, despite the Israeli attacks, violations and plans regarding Jerusalem, is the effectiveness of Jordanian measures, based on the Hashemite guardianship, and the preservation of the existing historical and legal status as it is and will not be. otherwise.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Jordan paid heavy prices for adhering to the principles regarding the Palestinian cause and its justice, and defending it, and we will maintain these positions.. adding: “We do not compromise or acquiesce to any scheme.

He added, “We will continue to stand under the leadership of King Abdullah II, Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, and all the benefactors in the world behind the just Palestinian cause, which peace and stability will not be achieved unless it is resolved in a just and comprehensive manner in accordance with the agreed upon international references.

Al-Khasawneh extended salutations and appreciation to “our people and brothers in dear Palestine who are steadfast on their national soil, and in the vicinity of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, who defend Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem and stand against attempts to change the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its sanctities.”

He also congratulated the countrymen on these days when the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan coincide with the advent of Easter and the National Day of the Jordanian Flag.

The Prime Minister also affirmed that the people of the Palestinian camps on the blessed Jordanian land are the focus of our pride and pride, and we are always keen, under the direct guidance of King Abdullah II, to give them the utmost care and attention.

The Chairman of the Palestine Committee in the Senate, Al-Ain Nayef Al-Qadi, affirmed the relentless efforts made by King Abdullah II in preserving the Arab and Islamic identity of the city of Jerusalem and preserving the Islamic and Christian sanctities in it.

He pointed out that Jordan, under the leadership of the King, stood against the attacks carried out by Israeli groups on the Holy Mosque and the worshipers therein.

For his part, the head of the Palestine Parliamentary Committee, Representative Fayez Basbous, referred to the strategic support of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Palestinian cause, stressing that the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian sanctities is the consolidation of the Palestinian, Arab and Islamic right to it.

He pointed out that Jordan, which dropped the deal of the century, plays an important role today in protecting the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Temple Mount, and the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

In turn, the Director General of the Department of Palestinian Affairs, Eng. Rafiq Kharfan, confirmed that this annual Iftar held by the Department and the camp committees is an expression of the unity that brings together the Jordanian and Palestinian peoples.

He pointed to the effort made by King Abdullah II in defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, adhering to the Hashemite guardianship over Islamic and Christian sanctities, and rejecting the unilateral measures taken by Israel in the holy city.

Kharfan confirmed that the royal initiatives covered all aspects of life, pointing out that the government is working to improve the services provided to Palestinian refugees.

In a speech on behalf of the heads of the camp committees in the Kingdom, the head of the Talibiyah Camp Services Committee valued royal favors for the camp residents through infrastructure projects and housing for chaste families.

He also appreciated the King’s stances in support of the Palestinian cause with the aim of finding a just solution to the issue based on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and adherence to the Hashemite Custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
