Amman – Raed Sbeih
The social expert and director of the Al-Afaf Charity Association, Moufid Serihan, confirmed in his statements to “compassThat the behavior that people follow, with the approaching end of the holy month of Ramadan and the advent of Eid Al-Fitr, is linked to what he described as “last-minute behavior” that would confuse the individual and society and cause crowding, tension and turmoil, expressing his surprise at the same time that “some people love The last hour and they find a special taste in it,” as he put it.
Sarhan said: Since childhood, the mother has been keen not to wake her child up to go to kindergarten until the last minutes before the specified time, as well as when going to school. School in the last minute before the start of the morning assembly or the first class, if he did not arrive late to join his classmates, as the child gets used to confusion and haste in the last minutes, and the tension and turmoil that this entails. Even when the student himself goes to school, he used to go rushing, racing against time, to arrive at the last minute at best.
He also pointed out that “the majority used to stay outside the lecture hall at the university, waiting for the subject teacher to arrive to enter the hall.”
Sarhan pointed out that “many of the meetings do not start at the predetermined date, as it has become obvious that the majority of those gathered arrive after the specified date, leaving a few of the obligated ones waiting for the latecomers who do not feel guilty, as the obligated ones are the ones who must wait.”
He explained that “when the family goes out together for a visit or something else, they are used to staying in the car for a while waiting for one or more family members, who are used to being late even though the departure date is set and known to everyone hours before.”
Sarhan also pointed out that “the date for starting work is set even before joining the job, and the distance from home to the place of work is fixed, but there are those who leave their homes before an insufficient time to arrive, even without taking into account the transportation crisis or road surprises.”
Views related to Ramadan and Eid
And he gave an example of last-minute lovers by saying: “In the holy days of Ramadan, the minutes before the call to prayer in Morocco is raised, is the preferred time for buying and shopping. Breakfast in sufficient time, to reach his destination without trouble, or drive too fast, exposing himself, his family and others to danger. Although everyone is keen to keep a calendar of iftar and suhoor dates before the beginning of the holy month, even if the dates are remembered by adults and children several times a day.
And he noted that “after the end of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr comes, as it is an annual religious occasion, and a day of joy and pleasure. And the month of Ramadan is either thirty days or twenty-nine days, so the difference in determining the day of Eid al-Fitr does not exceed one day, and yet many are waiting for the official announcement of the feast after sunset on the last day of Ramadan, to get out of the house to shop as if they were surprised by the feast.

Sarhan went on to say: You find the streets and markets crowded with people and cars, even those who do not have a need go out in the crowds and participate in enjoying the “last minute.”
And he pointed out that “although the date of Eid al-Adha is set ten days before, the last moments before the day of Eid have a special place that should not be missed by many, participating in confusing the scene and wasting the time of many and exposing them to danger, especially those who are forced to go out for urgent need.”
Last moments on multiple occasions
Sarhan said: Even paying subscriptions and paying bills, large numbers flock to the doors of their institutions and offices at the last hour, even though the deadline is known to all, and many can pay days before the deadline, as if the latecomers are waiting for something to happen, even though they have been like this for years. without change.
And he stressed that “the behavior of the last moments is repeated by many people, and on multiple occasions, as if they love the last hour, in which they find a special taste.”

Sarhan added: Reducing the number of participants in the “last minute” contributes to enabling those with needs to obtain them without further trouble and enables them to benefit from the time in what is beneficial, leaving the last minute for those whose work conditions do not allow them to meet their needs early.
sense of responsibility
The social expert said that a sense of responsibility requires that those who allow him to meet his needs early. To facilitate and protect him, his family and society.
He stressed that the responsible authorities must take into account the “last-minute love” that the majority are accustomed to, on all occasions, even if this causes the concerned authorities more effort, follow-up and exhaustion.
Sarhan concluded his statements to “Al-Bawsala” by saying: Change needs to be gradual, spreading awareness and practical practice, which starts from childhood and from the family, by getting used to early and not pressed for time, and moving away from the ends of time and crowded places, stressing at the same time that “the overcrowding of the last moments It is a waste of everyone’s time, a delay in their interests, and a drain on energies in their proper place.”
