The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply said, on Friday, that it will set price ceilings for chicken sold to restaurants and hotels, in the event that the “clear shortage” of chicken continues.

Ministry spokesman Yanal Al-Baramawy said, in a statement, that it was found during the morning tours of the markets that were carried out by the monitoring teams in the ministry that there was a clear shortage of fresh chicken sold through pick-ups. today”.

However, “in the event that the shortage (in chicken) continues, price ceilings will be set for chicken sold to restaurants and hotels at 190 piasters for fresh chicken, as of tomorrow morning, Saturday,” Al-Baramawy said.

And he stressed that “the ministry, with continuous follow-up from the minister, continues intensive control campaigns and stands on the abundance of chicken quantities offered in the markets to meet the needs of the local market,” noting that “all measures are taken to address any shortage in quantities based on the provisions of the Industry and Trade Law.”
