The Ministry of Water and Irrigation said that the recent depression raised the volume of precipitation from the beginning of the season until Thursday morning, to 113.5 percent from the general annual rate of 8.1 billion cubic meters, compared to 78.5 percent during the same period last year, forming 143 percent of the total rainfall last year.
The ministry indicated that the depression raised the level of precipitation to good levels relative to the general average in most regions of the Kingdom, and that the highest rate of rainfall recorded during the past 24 hours was in Ajloun, where it reached 55 mm.
She explained that the dams entered during the past 24 hours 2 million cubic meters, raising their storage to 122 million cubic meters, or 43.5 percent of their total capacity of 280,759 million cubic meters.
Regarding precipitation rates during the past 24 hours, the ministry said that the Ajloun governorate recorded the highest rate, amounting to 40.3 mm.
In the governorate of Irbid, it recorded 25.8 mm, the highest in the city of Irbid 45.4 mm, Umm Qais 39.4 mm, Zibdeh 30.8 mm, Kharga 28.6 mm, Kafr Asad and Kafr Yuba 28.5 mm, Qamim 26.3 mm, Al-Baqoura 25.7 mm, Tora 15.6 mm, Al-Naimah 12.8 mm, Al-Ramtha 11.1 mm, while Jerash recorded 26.6 mm, the highest in Souf 46.7 mm, Al-Kutta 32 mm, Dibbeen 28, 9 mm, Asfour breach 28.8 mm, Qafqafa 19 mm, Jerash city 15.4 mm.
In Al-Balqa governorate, it recorded 23.9 mm, the highest in the city of Al-Salt 45 mm, Aira 43.8 mm, Al-Baqa’a 27 mm, Umm Joza 25.7 mm, Al-Karama 13.9 mm, Al-Shouna Al-Janubiyah 10 mm, Al-Kafrin 9.5 mm, and Wadi Shuaib 9 mm, while the Capital Governorate recorded 20.7 mm, the highest in Jubaiha 41.9 mm, Sweileh 39.6 mm, Al-Hamr 33.8 mm, Al-Bayader 33 mm, Shmeisani 32.9 mm, Jabal Al-Hussein 24.2 mm, Naour 18.2mm, Umm Al-Basateen 16.3mm, Marka 14.2mm, Khan Al-Zabib 11.4mm, Sahab 7.3mm.
In the Tafilah governorate, it recorded 14.9 mm, the highest in the city of Tafilah 20.4 mm, Al-Qadisiyah 18.7 mm, Al-Rashadiyah 17.2, Al-Eis 17.1, Al-Hasa 0.9, while the Madaba governorate recorded 9.2 mm, the highest. 14.9 mm in Mashqar and Husban, 11.4 mm in the city of Madaba, 9.5 mm in Umm al-Amad, 9. Dhiban, 8.7 Ma’in, 8.4 al-Wala, 8.4 al-Jadida, 8.2 mm, Malih 5.4, and Umm al-Rasas 1.7 mm.
Al-Karak governorate recorded 7.5 mm, the highest in Jadaa 13.3 mm, Al-Rabba 13 mm, Al-Qasr 12.8, Al-Karak city 9, Al-Mazar 7.7, Ai 6.4 mm, Hammoud 5.7, Mohy 5.4, Al-Taybeh recorded 3.8 mm, Mafraq recorded 7.8 mm, the highest was recorded in Balama 20.2 mm, Al-Mudawar 19, Rehab 12.2, Al-Khanasri 9.2, Al-Mafraq city 8.2, Al-Khalidiyah 7.8, and Hawsha 6.4. Subha 6.3, Umm al-Qattin 6.2, Umm al-Jimal 5, Deir al-Kahf and al-Safawi 0.2 mm.
In Zarqa Governorate, it recorded 7 mm, the highest in Alouk 16.3 mm, Rusaifa 10.9, Al-Sukhna 8.8, Khirbet As-Samra 8.4, Zarqa City 7.4, Al-Nawaseef 5.6, Al-Omari 1.4, and Qasr Al-Hallabat. 3.6, Al-Azraq 0.6, while Ma’an governorate recorded 6 mm, the highest recorded in Bir Al-Dabaghat 11.1 mm, Southern Taiba 9.1, Al-Shobak and Qurain 9, Al-Rajif 6.4, Sadaqa 5.7, Onaizah 3.5 mm .
Aqaba governorate recorded 2.9 mm, the highest in Wadi Musa 6.2 mm, Al Quweira 5.6, Al Rashidiya 4.2, Aqaba 3.8, Rahma 1.4, Humaymah 1.2, and Al Risha 1 mm.
The ministry indicated that the ratio of rainfall to the long-term average for each governorate increased in most regions, as it was recorded in Aqaba 285 percent, Ma’an 201 percent, Irbid 122.4 percent, Zarqa 114.3 percent, Mafraq 100 percent, and Salt 94 percent. Amman about 90 percent, Ajloun 90 percent, Jerash 60.1 percent, Madaba 66 percent, Karak 66.2 percent, Tafilah 76 percent, and Shoubak 60.1 percent.
Regarding the total amounts of rain falling during the current season in the regions of the Kingdom since the beginning of the season, the ministry indicated that the highest amounts were in Ajloun Governorate 566.8 mm, Salt 556.3 mm, Wadi Al-Seer 498.3 mm, Irbid 497.1 mm, and Jabal Al-Hussein 345.1 mm. Karak 225.9, Jerash 212.2, Madaba 211.2, Marka 205.1, Tafila 193, Shobak 157.1, Zarqa 148, Mafraq 138.5, Maan 81.7, and Aqaba 74.1 mm.
The ministry affirmed that the current rainy season is an excellent season, and it will have a positive impact during the coming days on various aspects of economic and agricultural life and on the supply of drinking water and irrigation water for summer and rain-fed crops and improving the level of groundwater, in addition to providing pastures for livestock breeders until late in the season.
