The two representatives, Basbous and Hina, demanded the need to take firm measures to confront the extremist actions carried out by extremists and ministers in the far-right government, which threatens the security of the region.
In turn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi stressed that he does not need to clarify the Jordanian position on the Palestinian issue, as we are all in one position when it comes to Palestine and Jerusalem, and the Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem.
He added that Jordan was and will continue to stand by our Palestinian brothers and make every effort to support them and take all the steps it can to confront the Israeli practices that deprive the brotherly Palestinian people of their right to freedom, state and sovereignty and prevent them from practicing their religious rituals freely in accordance with all international laws.
He pointed out that the Jordanian diplomacy is aware of the magnitude of the danger represented by Israel’s measures, aggressions and violations, not only with regard to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Noble Sanctuary, but also with all the Palestinian lands, including settlement expansion, house demolitions and the displacement of Palestinians from their homes.
Al-Safadi stressed that Jordanian diplomacy worked and is still working, not only as a response to the Israeli attacks that we witnessed on Al-Aqsa, but it works continuously because we firmly believe that if the Palestinians do not obtain their full rights, the region will never enjoy peace.
He said that occupation is the basis of evil, and ending this occupation is the only way to achieve peace, indicating that when we talk about de-escalation, we do not talk about it as a final goal, but rather as a step towards progress towards a solution that restores the full legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people.
The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Ahmed Al-Khalayleh, decided to adjourn the session until further notice.
