Representative of the Reform Bloc, Adnan Mashuqa, directed a parliamentary question to the government about foreign investment in Jordanian banks.

Mashuqa requested an indication of the percentage of foreign investment shares in local Jordanian banks out of the total value of investment in banks.

He asked about the value of cash transferred outside the Kingdom as a result of the profits of foreign investors’ shares.

He called for clarification of the potential effects on the Jordanian economy in the event that foreign investors decided to withdraw their investments from local banks in the midst of what we are witnessing from the collapse of banks as a result of withdrawing deposits.
