Camera lenses monitored the terrifying moment when sparks erupted from a Ryanair plane after the front wheel collapsed while landing at Dublin Airport, and an emergency was declared after the plane stopped, as officials said the plane had a “minor problem” with the landing gear.

There were no reports of injuries initially after the arrival of the Ryanair flight from Liverpool, as a video clip appeared showing a series of sparks flying from the front wheel of the plane on Sunday afternoon, according to the British Daily Mail.

The clip then showed emergency crews rushing to the plane, and pictures taken after the plane stopped showed the front wheel and landing gear completely destroyed.

A statement from Dublin Airport Authority said: “The Dublin Airport Fire Department responded, passengers disembarked normally, and passengers were met by National Ambulance Service staff and paramedics upon their arrival inside the terminal building.”.

A statement from the service said there were no reports of injuries although one person was treated for shock. Passengers were met by National Ambulance Service staff on arrival. The south stand remains closed and the north stand is in use due to the emergency..

Ryanair said in a statement that the plane encountered a “minor technical problem” in the front of the plane upon landing.
