Amman – Raed Sbeih
Professor of Sociology at Mutah University, Dr. Hussein Mahadin confirmed in his statements to “compassHowever, the remaining days of the blessed month of Ramadan urge us to return to the “values of collective solidarity” starting from the family through the neighborhood, and not ending with other institutions, stressing the need to remove the “alienation” that has entered our society and which has caused the values of generosity, generosity, giving and solidarity between community members.
Mahadin continued his speech by saying: Through our monitoring of the nature of the rapid changes that Jordanian society is going through, which are changes in their essence “value and economic” together, we can conclude a number of indicators that would make us conclude “Why did good work decline, and why did the values of solidarity decline in Unfortunately, Jordanian society as a whole.
“We say that the entry of Jordan since the nineties of the last century and what followed with the beginning of the century that followed also in matters of privatization, and the decline in the income level of the citizen on the one hand, in addition to the rise in the level of (individual values) in an alien and strange way to our Arab Muslim society, which has always been characterized as It has a clear social and symbiotic texture,” as he put it.
Mahadin wondered: Why, because the historical and cultural roots of this society with its religious values urge solidarity, community values, and synergy and support, and thus worked to create a kind of “integrated popular conscience” in which, if one system is affected here, it is reflected in the rest of the systems of social construction.
He added, however, that what is happening in practice and rapidly is that the technological and communicative media, which is one of the tools of globalization, that is, the one with the individual or “individualist” thought that exaggerates the ego and reduces the ego, has worked over the past decades to change the “patterns of socialization” for us, men and women. .
Societal acceptance of wrong behavior
He pointed out that “the ego” has become the title, and “we” is the maximum, and this did not apply only to family borders, but unfortunately there has become a social and cultural acceptance of such wrong behaviors, why, because the Jordanian society is a society that is excited by what comes to it from outside its borders and its walls, and that this media infusion through the “image culture” has contributed strongly to the decline of “the values of generosity, solidarity, giving and altruism” towards “digital value”, which is part of this world’s trends towards “digitization”, that is, making individuals mere fragile numbers that fly away, and that numbers It is also the one that determines a person’s personal status in isolation from his surroundings, starting with his family and not his society.

And the professor of sociology continued by saying: So, why do we need to return and restore the values of the noble Arab family? Because we have felt, over the past decades, the existence of a kind of “emotional alienation” among us, and we notice this even during the gathering of family members over a meal.
Mahadin added, “It is true that they are together physically, but each of them is preoccupied with the other and his conversations on his cell phone, which provided him with the opportunity to communicate with others outside the borders of geography and in different languages.”
Deepening the values of solidarity within our human and religious system
Mahadin said: We want in this holy month to revive and deepen the values of solidarity that our human system enjoyed at its “religious” peak, Arabs and Muslims.
He pointed out that “the high divorce rates, for example, is only a serious indication of the challenges that our families face because they are the factory of upbringing. Noble human values that have been for decades, or even centuries, are present and important.

He added, in light of the declining economic level of people and the rise in indebtedness, we want people to feel that they have a “humanitarian role” through which they await reward and act silently on it.
Mahadin stressed the need to “return to “collective solidarity” starting from the family through the neighborhood, and not ending with other institutions, as all of them contribute to our awakening or the removal of this “alienation” that came upon us with the rise in “number values” and abstract material culture.
Mahadin concluded in his statements to:compassTo say: “Therefore, we need our return towards ourselves and our open human identity, and towards enhancing the value of man by remaining a human being above matter and above the tools of technology, because he is the one who was left with dignity on earth for its reconstruction by the Lord of the Worlds.”
