Compass – The number of drug crimes committed in Jordan during the past year 2022 amounted to about 18,334 crimes, including 5,295 crimes of trafficking, and 13,039 crimes of possession and abuse of narcotic substances.

According to the criminal statistical report, the drug crime rate was one every 28 minutes and 40 seconds, while the detection rate was 99.49%.

And when taking into account that the population of Jordan is 11,302,000 people, according to the figures of the Department of Statistics, the rate of drug crimes in 2022 was about 16 crimes per 1,000 people.

According to the distribution of drug crimes in the regions, Amman Governorate came at the forefront in the number of crimes committed in 2022, while Ajloun Governorate recorded the lowest number of drug crimes, as follows:

Capital Region 7260 crimes (Central Amman 1377, Southern Amman 1862, Northern Amman 1639, Eastern Amman 2382).

The central region 4212 crimes (Zarqa 1681, Rusaifa 897, Balqa 911, West Balqa 378, Madaba 345).

The Northern Region 3836 crimes (Irbid 1594, Ramtha 500, West Irbid 324, Mafraq 780, Jerash 469, Ajloun 169).

The southern region 1777 crimes (Karak 405, Tafila 190, Maan 241, West Maan 27, Aqaba 914).

Badia 1249 crimes (Northern 424, Central 822, Southern 3).
