Brazilian experts used digital imaging to reveal the face of an Egyptian man who lived 35,000 years ago, according to the American “CNN”.
Moakir Elias Santos, an archaeologist and Cesaro Moraes, a 3D designer, used the skeletal remains of a man found at an archaeological site in Egypt to recreate a digital image.
The image shows a close-up of a detailed face of the skull of a human being, Nazlet Khater, which is an integrated structure for a person who lived about 35,000 years ago. It was found in the village of Nazlet Khater in the city of Tahta, Sohag Governorate, where its remains were discovered by the Belgian mission operating in Egypt during excavations in the village in 1980.
Anthropological analysis later identified the skeletal remains of a man of African descent, who was between 17 and 29 years old at the time of his death. Analysis indicates that he was approximately five feet three inches (161 cm) tall.
The team used the facial approximation process, which helps archaeologists recreate the facial features of a deceased person using skeletal remains.
Santos, an archaeologist at the Cerro Flamarion Cardoso Museum of Archeology in Ponta Grossa, Brazil, told CNN: “A few years ago, we were already working on a series of approaches related to human evolution, with the most famous fossil replicas. in the development of cranial imaging, which made up the study.”
Photogrammetry is the process of extracting three-dimensional information from images, which is what Santos and Moraes did after viewing the man’s skeletal remains at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo.
This process has been used by experts to determine how humans have evolved over a period of years.
