The National Human Rights Council calls on the government to prosecute the occupation leaders before the Criminal Court

The National Society for Human Rights said that it followed up the occupation soldiers’ raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem, and the flagrant violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces, such as the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the assault on worshipers and those in seclusion while they were performing prayers during the blessed month of Ramadan, and the settlers’ storming of the mosque under the guard and protection of the occupation forces. Which clearly shows the true face of the occupation in violating places of worship, contrary to the provisions of the Geneva Conventions of (1949), which emphasized the need to protect holy places, freedom of worship for indigenous people and civilians, and not to attack cultural and religious places.

The Society emphasized the importance of the Hashemite Custodianship over the holy sites, which confirms the protection of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem, and the right of the Palestinian people to defend their land and sanctities, and we call on the Jordanian government to fulfill its legal responsibilities and prosecute the occupation leaders for the crimes they commit before international courts, since the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has ratified the Rome Statute of the Criminal Court .

She called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities in protecting the Palestinian people, sanctities and religious places, and to hold the occupation leaders accountable for the ongoing crimes they commit, and not to suffice with denunciation and denunciation, at the forefront of which are the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the International Security Council, the Prosecutor General of the International Criminal Court, the Special Rapporteur on Human Rights and the Special Rapporteur on the Protection of Places sacred and religious, and considering the leaders of the occupation wanted persons for international justice.

The National Society for Human Rights said in a statement that it holds the occupation authority all responsibilities and legal consequences for its ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people and their sanctities.
