The Council of Ministers, in its session held today, Sunday, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, approved the reasons for the draft law to cancel the law ratifying the surface distillation concession agreement for oil shale between the government represented by the Natural Resources Authority and the Karak International Petroleum Private Limited Shareholding Company for the year 2023.

The draft law comes as the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources notified the company of terminating the agreement within ninety days through the Official Gazette; This is due to the company’s breach of its contractual obligations under the concession agreement, and the company’s failure at the end of the notice period to remove or remedy the cause of the breach, and it did not provide any response to the notice at all.

The Council of Ministers approved the system for forming the Al-Saru Municipal Court for the year 2023, the system for forming the Al-Naseem Municipal Court for the year 2023, and the system for forming the Bab Amman Municipal Court for the year 2023, as well as the reasons for the draft system for forming the Birin Municipal Court for the year 2023.

The approval of the above regulations and reasons comes; In view of the need for the four municipalities to have a municipal court in each of them, with jurisdiction over crimes committed within its borders; This is based on the provisions of Article (3) of the Municipal Courts Formation Law No. (53) of 2006, which requires that a special system be issued for each municipal court.

On the other hand, the Cabinet approved the national strategy for e-commerce. So that the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply will move forward in implementing the priority measures for the years (2023-2025) in cooperation with all relevant authorities.

The strategy aims to create an enabling environment for e-commerce that is attractive to investment and doing business, provide income opportunities for citizens, and enhance the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs through the use of e-commerce solutions and modern technologies to expand locally and globally, facilitate trade and enhance the competitiveness of the logistics services sector.

Work will be done to implement the strategy in three phases over a period of ten years, in line with the timetable for the vision of economic modernization. experimental in areas of highest priority; In order to enhance the competitiveness of MSMEs, and to review the current legal and regulatory framework to create an enabling environment for e-commerce in Jordan.

As for the second phase of the strategy, it extends between (2026-2029) and aims to build a competitive advantage in e-commerce based on the results expected to be achieved during the first phase, while the third phase, which extends between (2030-2033), aims to develop a leading competitive advantage and adapt to emerging e-commerce technologies, and making necessary changes early; With the aim of making Jordan one of the fastest growing e-commerce centers in the region.

The Council of Ministers also approved granting (Nai Radio Broadcasting Company) a license to broadcast radio programs on the (FM) wave to cover the Capital Governorate.
