The Ministry of Public Works and Housing denied what was circulated about stopping work on the Irbid-Amman-Jerash road maintenance project for the part located in the Al-Jaidiyyah area (treatment of the Al-Jaidiyeh collapses).

In its response to the inquiries of the Jordan News Agency (Petra), today, Saturday, the ministry confirmed that work on the maintenance project (treatment of Al-Jaidiah collapses) is ongoing.

She explained that the alternative road (for the direction from Irbid to Amman) has been expanded for the purpose of using it as an alternative road in both directions in emergency cases, and in coordination with the Traffic Department, as it was separated by plastic poles experimentally for monitoring and joint examination with the concerned parties, as it was found that traffic jams occurred in the event of complete diverting of traffic on it.

And she indicated that it was decided to keep the shunt as a backup alternative option in the event of any unforeseen matters occurring during the implementation period of the works to treat the three slips within the project work.

Sources had told (Petra) yesterday evening that the work on the Irbid-Jerash road maintenance project in the Al-Jaidiyyah area, represented by (treatment of the collapses at the site), was canceled after canceling the diversion established by the ministry.
