The Jordanian ambassador to Romania, Sufian Al-Qudah, announced on Friday evening that Jordanian exports of vegetables and fruits will return to the Romanian market, after a 10-year interruption.

Qudah said in a tweet on Twitter that this is one of the most important outputs of the visit of Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hanafiyat to Romania, stressing that this was achieved through the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Jordanian-Palestinian Company for Marketing Agricultural Products “JBACO”, which is based in Jordan.

The Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Al-Hunaifat, discussed during his visit to Romania last week ways to enhance and develop trade exchange of agricultural products between Romania and Jordan, and prospects for expanding cooperation between the two countries.

Al-Hanifat and his accompanying delegation met Prime Minister Nicolae Siochi, Romanian Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Petit Dia, and Speaker of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies, Marcel Ciulaco, and discussed with them economic relations between the two countries and ways to intensify their cooperation, especially trade exchanges in the agricultural field, fertilizers, pesticides, veterinary medicines, and vegetables. The delegation visited a number of major companies in the agricultural field in Prahova County, which showed interest in some Jordanian agricultural products.

The visit concluded with the second meeting of the Agricultural Technical Committee, where the two parties signed a protocol to expand cooperation and identify new cooperation opportunities in the fields of: animal husbandry, agricultural marketing, food product quality and safety, plant and animal health, agricultural extension, in addition to organizing training courses in the field of veterinary health for experts. Jordanians, and open markets for Jordanian agricultural products such as potash fertilizers, phosphates, pesticides, vegetables and fruits.

The two sides agreed to exchange experiences in several areas, including: animal husbandry, the plant health sector, agricultural extension, marketing and trade, in addition to defining 5 annual grants for Jordanian veterinarians in Romania, studying the adoption of Romania as a regional center for Jordanian agricultural products, and the adoption of Jordan as a regional center for Romanian products. Of meat, live animals and grains.

In the year 2022, Jordan and Palestine agreed to establish the Jordanian-Palestinian Company for Marketing Agricultural Products “Jabaco”, to be the sector’s means to reach foreign and traditional markets, and to enhance the marketing path through mobilization, grading and choosing appropriate land, sea and air shipping methods, in order to create suitable competitiveness for the local product, according to the Ministry. Agriculture.
