Jerusalemites and activists launched campaigns through social media, to engage in i’tikaf and bond in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to urge Palestinians to break the fast in its squares and surrounding alleys, throughout the blessed month of Ramadan.
Campaigns launched by activists on their duty to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Israeli occupation’s attacks and racist measures, by holding ties in it and at its gates, to prove to the entity and the world that this land is a purely Arab Islamic right that they have no ownership over, and they will not get bored until the occupation that will leave and Jerusalem and its people will remain, according to those in charge of the campaign .
The researcher in Jerusalem affairs, Ziyad Abhais, praised the doubling of the numbers of those who are in retreat in Al-Aqsa since the first days of the Holy Poetry.
And the Al-Quds International Foundation had appealed to the Jordanian government, in a letter to the Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, Muhammad Ahmad Al-Khalayleh, to work to “open the door of seclusion in Al-Aqsa Mosque, starting from the first night of Ramadan.”
A state of anxiety and anticipation prevails among the people of occupied Jerusalem, due to the escalation of calls by extremist Jewish groups to carry out massive incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially on the Jewish “Passover” holiday that comes in the middle of Ramadan.
via a hashtag #In _ Al-Aqsa _ I’tikafi The Almoravids published photos and videos of their participation in the I’tikaf:
Ibahis commented in statements to:compassHe emphasized the need for i’tikaaf to be in Al-Aqsa from the first day of the month of Ramadan, saying that the justification for this is due to the fact that Al-Aqsa is the brother of the Sacred Mosque, and one of the three mosques to which the traveler draws, and it has always been open to the seclusion throughout the year. And because he is the only one who closes his door to those who are in i’tikaaf except in the last ten days of Ramadan. While the doors of his two brothers are open throughout the nights of the year.
He added, “The I’tikaf is considered a gate of bond for those coming to Al-Aqsa through the checkpoints, through the wall, and from long distances, and because the I’tikaf is a gateway to protect it and stand in the face of the repeated Zionist incursions into it.”
Regarding the calls for i’tikaaf in Al-Aqsa Mosque from the beginning of Ramadan to prevent any Israeli aggression on Al-Aqsa, Sheikh Azzam Al-Khatib, Director General of the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem, said: “The Awqaf Council made it clear, if there are guests who come on Thursday or Friday, they are welcome. And they are welcome.” He added, “We are not against i’tikaaf, we are with i’tikaf, but the organization of worship.”

campaign comeWe will break our fast in JerusalemCoinciding with the escalation of calls to carry out large-scale storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the newspaper “Israel Hayom” warned a few days ago that the month of Ramadan 2023 would be the “most explosive” ever, in light of the escalation of commando operations.
Jerusalemites Hanadi Al-Halawani says that the campaign was launched with the aim of urging people to bind and perform i’tikaaf in Al-Aqsa Mosque throughout the month of Ramadan, in light of the challenges and dangers that the mosque is exposed to, with the escalation of extremist Jewish calls to storm it during the holy month.
Al-Halawani explained that i’tikaaf in Al-Aqsa is an Islamic ritual that is not subject to the orders of the occupation, so the Islamic presence must be increased in it, to protect it from incursions during the upcoming Jewish holidays, which pose a threat to the mosque.
The campaign targets every Palestinian who is able to reach Al-Aqsa Mosque and travel to it, despite the spread of checkpoints and the strict occupation measures.
Al-Halawani points out that the campaign, since its launch, has witnessed a wide interaction – which you did not expect – on the communication sites, pointing out that it will continue to publish on the campaign’s hashtag even before the time of Iftar.
And she adds, “It is clear that the occupation no longer cares about the sanctity of Ramadan or the presence of Muslims in Al-Aqsa during this month, and it delusionally believes that abuse and assault on Palestinians, whether through military checkpoints or otherwise, as well as the expulsion of the stationed and influential people, will prevent us from linking to Al-Aqsa.”
She explains that extremist groups announced massive incursions into Al-Aqsa during the “Easter” holiday. On the other hand, the occupation police removed dozens of Palestinians from the mosque, and placed iron barriers at the Lions’ Gate on the Mujahideen Road to prevent vehicles from entering.
Distant stationed Khadija Khwais She says, “We were blessed with great bliss while we were aware of breaking the fast in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, until a time came when we were chased, besieged, expelled, and expelled from our mosque unjustly and aggressively! And the time came to us that Ali, may God be pleased with him, said about it. In a brick in the wall of Jerusalem!”
Last Wednesday, the Israeli occupation police handed the stationed Khwais a decision to banish Al-Aqsa Mosque for a week, subject to renewal.
For her part, the Jerusalemite Sahar al-Natsheh confirmed that the coming days will be difficult for the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque because of the Jewish holidays.
Al-Natsheh said in a press statement, on Saturday, that the occupation masters the oppression of the stationed men and women stationed in Al-Aqsa Mosque, noting that this will not discourage them from joining it.
She pointed out that there is a great response from citizens to the crowd in Al-Aqsa, but the occupation is trying in every way to prevent them, as it is setting up barriers for the people of the West Bank, in addition to distancing the people of Jerusalem from the mosque.
