Hussein Al-Amoush, a spokesman for the Consumer Protection Association, called on the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, on Thursday, to increase control over chicken shops.
Al-Amoush told Al-Mamlaka that dozens of complaints have been received by the association regarding the selling prices of chicken, especially live chicken for offspring.
The Ministry of Industry decided to set price ceilings for chicken, starting from Tuesday, and 16 violations were issued on Thursday. Not to announce prices.
Al-Amoush called on the ministry to set price ceilings on other items due to their high prices, noting that the prices of most basic food commodities rose about 30 days before Ramadan.
