Citizens participated in a protest stand in solidarity with the prisoners in the occupation prisons and outraged by the occupation government’s insulting statements to Jordan and Palestine.
The vigil was carried out on Wednesday evening, at the invitation of the National Forum to Support the Resistance and Protect the Homeland, in the square adjacent to the Al-Kalouti Mosque in the Rabieh area in the capital, Amman – the closest place where gatherings are permitted near the Israeli embassy.
The forum emphasized that the stand is a victory for Jordan and Palestine, and a rejection of the statements of the ministers of the Zionist government of extremism and aggression, which call for the abolition of the Palestinian people and the removal of Jordan from the map, and in response to the call of the captive movement in the occupation prisons, which is preparing for a collective hunger strike at the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan.
“We, in Jordan, are ready for the second battle of dignity if the occupation continues its statements and escalation towards Jordan,” said the Secretary-General of the Islamic Action Front Party and the head of the forum, Murad al-Adaileh.
Adaileh added, during his speech at the vigil, that “the statements of the Minister of Finance in the occupation government, Bezalel Smotrich, do not represent him alone, but rather represent the doctrine of the Zionist entity, what its leaders think of Jordan, and their ambitions towards it.”
Adaileh added, “The most important of those who believe that there may be peace or agreements with this entity, and we say to Smotrich, draw maps, because this land is forbidden to you, and there are those who are waiting for death to defend it,” and he recalled the actions of the Jordanian army soldiers in the battle of dignity.
The participants chanted, calling on the Jordanian government to expel the Israeli ambassador from Amman and to withdraw from normalization agreements such as the Wadi Araba agreement and the water-for-electricity agreement.
And the Jordanian Foreign Ministry had summoned the Israeli ambassador in Amman, in order to use the Israeli Minister of Finance, during his participation in an event held in Paris, a map of Israel that includes the borders of the Kingdom and the occupied Palestinian territories, because this represents an incitement and reckless behavior, and the Jordanian Foreign Ministry also informed the ambassador of the occupying country that this represents racist behavior. Extremist and in violation of international norms and the Jordanian-Israeli peace treaty.
And the House of Representatives voted on Wednesday, during a session that witnessed sharp speeches from the deputies, in response to what Smotrich did, in terms of using an Israeli map that includes Jordan and Palestine on a platform he was speaking on in Paris. By approving a proposal to expel the Israeli ambassador, against the background of the racist statements and actions of the occupation finance minister towards Jordan and Palestine.
