The third judicial panel specialized in corruption crimes at the Amman Court of First Instance, headed by Judge Ahmed Al-Omari and with the membership of Judge Dr. Marzouq Al-Amoush, Director General of a hospital, condemned the crime of squandering public money, including about one million dinars.

And the court issued its decision, today, Thursday, during a public session, which it held in the presence of the Public Prosecutor of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, Atef Al-Khawaldeh, and decided to incriminate a second person in the case who works as a director of information systems in the hospital with the crime of conflict of interest and not disclosing information indicating his connection to a company that supplies equipment to the hospital and decided to fine him. The amount of 500 dinars.

The court declared that a third defendant in the case is not responsible for the crime of wasting public money, and his innocence of the crime of investing the job, and the decision will be subject to appeal against all of them before the competent court.

The details of the case indicate that the hospital was receiving patients from an Arab country that witnessed disturbances and violent incidents, and the hospital board of directors assigned the convicted director to manage his file, provided that the director adheres to not increasing the treatment bill for an amount ranging between 3-4 million dinars, and the director used to inform the board of directors that The bill did not exceed the amount that was specified by them.

And the decision indicated that the board discovered that the amount exceeded 4 million to 13 million dinars, and the indebtedness on the beneficiary side of the hospital reached 22 million dinars, and only one million and 700 thousand dinars were collected. But he did not attend, and the file was transferred to the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission.

After the commission investigated the case, it was transferred to the court, which began listening to all parties, and concluded that the director of the hospital was convicted of the crime of wasting public money, as the funds of limited public shareholding hospitals are considered public funds, and decided to include him the value of the damage caused to the hospital, amounting to 900 thousand dinars, and fined him a sum of money. Its value is 5 thousand dinars.
