The Council of Ministers decided in its session held today, Wednesday, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, to approve the creation of two municipalities in the Bani Obeid district and in the Rajm Al-Shami district, in support of the provisions of Article (21 / A) of the Local Administration Law No. (22) of 2021.

The decision comes in response to the demands of the citizens in both regions, as the Bani Ubaid district is considered the only district in the Kingdom in which there is no municipality, and based on the number of its population and its area, the matter requires the creation of a municipality in it. With the aim of facilitating the provision of services to citizens, bearing in mind that the financial revenues from the district support the creation of a municipality and ensure its continuity and ability to provide services.

According to the decision, the projects established by the Greater Irbid Municipality within the Bani Obeid District will remain in its name, such as King Abdullah II Gardens, the New Amman Complex, and the Truck City, while the ownership of the Central Vegetable Market project will be shared between the two municipalities within certain shares and percentages to be agreed upon.

The new municipality in the Bani Obeid District will also bear part of the indebtedness of the Greater Irbid Municipality at rates to be agreed upon, and the staff, machinery and equipment will be distributed between the two municipalities in a way that guarantees the proper functioning of work, provided that the committee that will be formed to manage the new municipality follows up on ending the dismissal procedures with the Irbid Municipality. The grand.

With regard to the creation of a municipality in the district of Rajm al-Shami, the decision comes in view of the region’s fulfillment of the conditions related to the creation of a municipality, and the availability of technical and organizational adequacy that does not affect the geographical contact of the areas of the municipality of Al-Muwaqqar, and in response to the demands of the citizens there.

According to the decision, the new municipality in the district of Rajm al-Shami will bear part of the indebtedness of the municipality of Al-Muwaqqar at rates to be agreed upon, and the staff, machinery and equipment will be distributed between the two municipalities in a way that guarantees the proper functioning of work, provided that the committee that will be formed to manage the new municipality follows up on ending the separation procedures with the municipality of Al-Muwaqqar. .

On the other hand, the Council of Ministers approved a draft amending the visa system for the year 2023. This is for the purposes of determining the validity periods of visas issued by the Ministry of Interior and Jordanian missions abroad, and their validity to enter the Kingdom’s territory according to the number of trips, duration and type of visa.

The Council also approved an amended system for the regulation and control of billing affairs for the year 2023, for the purposes of approving the electronic invoice issued by the electronic national billing program, or for any program that is linked to it instead of keeping the invoice on paper.
