The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority will announce during the current month of March the main telecommunications sector indicators for the fourth quarter of 2022.

In its response to the “Kingdom” inquiries on Saturday, the authority said that the indicators report is in its final stages and will be published on the authority’s website.

Concerning the content of the report, the commission clarified that it includes a summary of the telecommunications sector indicators in Jordan, such as fixed voice services and telephone traffic for minutes calls.

The report also reviews a chapter on mobile voice communications subscriptions, Internet services, Internet consumption and penetration, and other details related to the sector.

A summary of the telecommunications sector indicators for the third quarter of 2022 showed that the prevalence of fixed voice communication services (landline telephone) for households was 20.5%, while the prevalence of mobile communication services in relation to the population was 67.5%.

According to statistics issued by the Communications Commission earlier, and viewed by the “Kingdom”, the volume of fixed voice telephone traffic amounted to 16.7 million minutes, and the penetration rate of fixed broadband Internet service for households reached 32.7%.

Mobile voice traffic amounted to 8.5 billion minutes, fixed broadband data usage 824 million gigabytes, and mobile broadband data usage 443 million gigabytes.

The number of subscriptions to voice communication services (prepaid and postpaid) amounted to 7,631,755 million subscriptions, of which 1,996,236 million postpaid subscriptions and 5,635,519 million previous paid subscriptions.

The percentage of prepaid subscriptions amounted to 74%, and postpaid 26% of mobile voice subscriptions for the third quarter of last year.
