The Greater Amman Municipality declared a medium state of emergency, starting this evening, to deal with the weather situation, which is expected, according to the report of the Meteorological Department, to witness thunderstorms of rain.

The media spokesman for the Municipality of Amman, Nasser Al-Rahamneh, confirmed in a press statement on Saturday the readiness of the municipality to deal with any reports received by the Tlaa Al-Ali emergency room, calling, in case of any observation, to contact the unified call center numbers (102 and 117180).

He also called for taking precautions by staying away from the streams of valleys and low areas, not connecting the gutters of houses (the roof) to the sewage (sewage) outlets to avoid overflowing in the roads, and not throwing waste indiscriminately because it caused the closure of rainwater drainage lines.

Al-Rahamneh stressed the need to inspect the submersible pumps in the floors and shops that are below street level, and for merchants to take preventive precautions when storing goods in warehouses and basements.

He called on contractors and owners of construction projects to take the initiative to secure building materials in order to avoid drifting and causing direct closure of rainwater drainage lines.
