The Director of the Meteorological Department, Raed Rafid Al-Khattab, said that the Kingdom is on a date with evening and night hours today, with a gradual extension of an air depression centered to the east of the island of Cyprus, accompanied by a cold air mass, so that the weather becomes partly cloudy to cloudy, and rain falls from time to time in the north of the Kingdom, which may be accompanied by thunder. Sometimes it gradually extends to the central regions.

Khattab added that the temperatures on Sunday will decrease significantly with the deepening of the cold air mass accompanying the depression centered in the northeast of Cyprus, so that the weather becomes cold, cloudy and rainy in the north and center of the Kingdom, to be heavy for limited periods accompanied by thunder and hailstones sometimes falling.

Al-Khattab expects that precipitation will gradually extend to parts of the south and east of the Kingdom in the form of light showers of rain, accompanied by brisk westerly winds, causing dust in the Badia regions.

And he warned of the possibility of torrential rains forming in the valleys and low areas in the north and center of the Kingdom, in addition to the danger of low horizontal visibility due to dust in the desert regions.

And he stated that the weather will remain cold, cloudy and rainy in most regions of the Kingdom on Monday, and it is expected that precipitation will be heavy at intervals during the morning hours, sometimes accompanied by thunder, and the chance of precipitation will gradually weaken at night.

With regard to the first week of Ramadan, Khattab indicated that temperatures will be around their normal rates, and a feeling of cold in the morning and night periods.

He stressed that the formation of the first five-year depression is being monitored, which is expected to move over Algeria in a northeastern direction, and may affect the Kingdom in the first days of Ramadan, which creates a state of atmospheric instability and the expectation of rain showers.
