King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, congratulated the members of the armed forces and security services on the sixty-seventh anniversary of the Arabization of the Arab Army Command, which falls on the first of March.

During his visit to the General Command of the Armed Forces, today, Wednesday, on this occasion, he recalled the courage of the late King Hussein’s decision and the courage of the Jordanians, stressing that it is an opportunity to renew the determination to complete the modernization process and face the challenges.

The king saluted the efforts of officers, non-commissioned officers and members of the Arab army and security services in all their positions, expressing his pride in the role of the armed forces and security services in protecting the country and its achievements.

He affirmed, in the presence of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Staff Youssef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, the Director of Public Security, Major General Obaidullah Al-Maaytah, and senior officers, that the armed forces and security services are appreciated by all as an important part of the nation’s march.

For his part, Major General Al-Hunaiti recalled the courageous historic decision of King Hussein bin Talal, to evacuate the British officers from Jordan and to assume command of the Arab army for the Jordanian officers.

He stressed that the Arabization of the army command was not a passing event or a temporary decision that ends in a moment, but rather it was a decision related to the past, present and future, and the beginning of the stage of development, modernization, advancement and construction of this army, to be at the level of national and national ambition.

Al-Hunaiti reviewed the qualitative development witnessed by the Arab army during the reign of the king in the areas of modernization, armament and training, in order to advance the military institution and its members.

The King and the audience watched a film about the development of the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army and the security services.

Upon the arrival of the King, the General Command of the Armed Forces, the artillery fired twenty-one salutes, and the King reviewed the guard of honor that lined up to greet him.
