Compass – King Abdullah II affirmed that Jordan is proceeding with confidence in the process of modernization and building an effective partisan life.
During his meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace today, Monday, with the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, Eng.

The king stressed the importance of having a clear strategy to break the barrier of fear or hesitation among young people, to ensure their active participation in political and partisan life.
He urged to continue raising the level of cooperation and coordination with universities, and to take advantage of the recently approved system to regulate the practice of student partisan activities in higher education institutions to bring about a quantum leap in the nature of activities and interaction with students.

The king praised the efforts made by the commission to educate society about the importance of joining parties and political participation, stressing the need to clarify the direct relationship between active participation in political life and achieving the goals of economic and social development.

For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission said that the Commission will do its utmost to implement its role in the political modernization system to the fullest extent, through the application of the electoral and party laws.
He pointed out that the Commission will intensify its efforts in awareness and education to expand the base of political participation, especially by women, youth and university students.
Al-Maaytah stressed the importance of the role of the Independent Election Commission in building bridges of trust with citizens to confirm the seriousness of the political modernization plan.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the King’s Office, Dr. Jaafar Hassan.
