Director of the Government Services Center, Dima Al-Nahar, said that the center constitutes a step on the ground for the government’s plan to modernize the public sector and its executive program during the years 2023 and 2024, and to provide service to citizens and auditors in an institutional manner.
Al-Nahar indicated, during her interview with Public Security Radio, today, Monday, that the center aims to provide the best service to citizens without trouble and in record time, within an integrated system and in one place that makes them feel comfortable and satisfied, which is a unique and modern experience.
She indicated that the center’s working hours start from nine in the morning until seven in the evening for all government institutions covered, and from seven in the evening until 12:00 midnight for passport service, in addition to Saturdays, with citizens being able to benefit from services outside official working hours and holidays.
Al-Nahar pointed out that the Government Services Center is the first in Mqabelin, as it was launched on a trial basis in September 2022, while the government seeks this year to start establishing and operating about 5 comprehensive government service centers similar to the Mqabelin Center as part of its plan to modernize the public sector.
Regarding the services provided by the center, she said that it provides 45 government services through 15 institutions, with a new pattern in providing government services of urgent priority to citizens in cooperation with a number of institutions.
She added that the government institutions and departments covered by the services in the center are the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Education, the Civil Status and Passports Department, the Chief Justice Department, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Labor, the General Organization for Social Security, the Lands and Survey Department, the Health Insurance Department, and the Ministry of Health. Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, the General Intelligence Department, the Greater Amman Municipality, the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Authority, the Public Security Directorate, in addition to the Ministry of Finance.
Regarding the nature of the services provided by the institutions in the center, Al-Nahar said that the ministries provide several services, such as the Ministry of Justice, from which the auditor extracts non-conviction, payment of fees in penal reconciliation cases, payment or balance of court trusts – penal reconciliation, payment of a fine for violating defense orders, and cash payment in Executive lawsuits, an order to receive a rent deposit, payment of a check/violations fine, the cessation of a final request, and the removal of a travel ban. And she added that the Civil Status and Passports Department issues several services, such as issuing family registration certificates, a previously registered birth or birth record, in addition to the services of issuing a previously registered divorce certificate, issuing two individual registration certificates, a previously registered marriage certificate, adding to a family book, and issuing and renewing Passport, registration of a marriage, issuance of a pre-registered death certificate, and attestation of civil status documents.
As for health insurance, Al-Nahar said that it is possible to issue health insurance for the newborn, and the service for issuing an insurance subscription. The Ministry of Labor provides services attesting experience certificates, and the Ministry of Education provides the service of first-grade registration, issuance of a list of marks for the general secondary certificate examination, and certification of a general secondary certificate, in addition to providing The Department of the Supreme Judge, the service of organizing a marriage contract and certifying it in the event that there is no objection within a maximum of 30 minutes.
And on the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Al-Nahar showed that the auditor can certify academic certificates issued by Jordanian universities, and the center also provides the service of inquiring about the social security number for individuals or subscribing to the insurance easily and conveniently for the services provided by the Social Security Corporation, with the provision of a commission Regulating the energy and minerals sector. Registration service for the electric tariff platform. The center also provides a service for inquiring about judicial implementation regarding the services provided by the Public Security Directorate.
According to Al-Nahar, the center offers the service of issuing good conduct, attestation of official documents by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Finance, and the service of not receiving a salary, payment, and import stamps.
As for the institutions that are most reviewed during the center, she referred to the Department of Civil Status and Passports, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, adding that work is ongoing and continuous to add other institutions and services in order to save a lot of trouble for the service applicant and adopt a new approach in public administration and development of the public sector.
