The Council of Ministers decided, in its session held today, Sunday, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, to approve the reasons for a draft law amending the Code of Civil Procedure for the year 2023 AD.

The draft law aims to reduce overcrowding in court corridors, save time and effort, facilitate trial procedures, and shorten litigation. This is by legitimizing the use of electronic means in litigation procedures, including procedures for serving judicial papers, registering lawsuits, and exchanging notes, regulations, and pleadings electronically, while providing all the guarantees and established rights.

The draft law allows for the use of a system based on filing, so that notes assigned to them, or pleadings submitted during court sessions, are exchanged by filing, whether at the court’s registry or electronically, without holding a trial session.

The Council of Ministers also decided to approve the delivery of electric current at the expense of rural fils for a number of projects, namely: the irrigation project north of the Rahma area, the Al-Nakhla tourist camp in Wadi Araba, the mentioned well project, and the candles hotel in Wadi Musa.

The decision comes for the purposes of supporting these projects, reducing their costs, enabling them to be sustainable, and providing job opportunities in those areas.

This decision.
