A Brazilian woman was shocked when she discovered a puppy inside the lining of a used piece of furniture she bought online. Soraya Gomez-Garcia said she was in Joinville, Brazil, when she found the seven-month-old puppy inside the sofa, according to the New York Post.

Remarkably, Garcia said, the puppy was alive, but only very hungry and thirsty, and added, “He was very hungry and thirsty, and was already about to die. Ripping the bottom to get it out, poor thing.”

AndGarcia revealed that she named the puppy “Mel”, after her first dog, who died two years ago.
