The director of the Jordanian Earthquake Center, Ghassan Sweidan, denied on Tuesday what is being said about predicting the place and time of earthquakes.

He added to the Nabd Al-Balad program, which is broadcast on the “Roya” TV, that the talk about a major earthquake in Jordan tomorrow, Wednesday, is inaccurate and unscientific.

He explained that the plate movement may take millions of years, and Jordan is moving northward at a rate of 2 cm per year, as a result of the events in Turkey and northern Syria.
