A large crowd of worshipers performed the prayer for rain, at the Yarmouk University mosque in Irbid governorate, in the north of the country, following the announcement of the Ministry of Endowments to establish the prayer, asking for the mercy of God Almighty to send down the rain.

The preacher of the prayer for rain, Sheikh Mamoun Al-Shamali, urged repentance, return to God, seeking forgiveness, and repentance with sincere hearts, for what is pleasing to God, the Blessed and Exalted, while calling for forgiveness in grievances and restoring rights to their owners.

And he indicated that God, the Blessed and Exalted, has prescribed for us acts of worship other than the obligatory, so that the servant remains connected to his Lord, the Blessed and Most High, indicating that what we are going through in terms of conditions and the rain retention is the time of this worship (prayer for rain), as this is the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace.

Al-Shamali said, addressing the worshipers, “Let each of us review himself and search for his shortcomings in the side of God and declare it repentance to God, and not say that I have no sins or sins.”

He added, “If you examine your jobs and work tasks that are the source of your livelihood, are you sincere in them, or are you negligent, and some do not exceed the few minutes and hours in performing their duties.”

And Al-Shamali addressed a word to the employees, saying, “Do you waste the world’s money, and do you prevent auditors with needs from your offices, and procrastinate in completing transactions?

He also addressed a speech to the students, saying, “Many of you are eager to seek knowledge, but very few are concerned only with the degree or mark and the completion of the research or thesis, even if in an illegal way. This is forbidden, so beware, repent to God, and open a new page.”

He added, addressing the worshipers, “Resolve the grievances and end the disputes between you, especially with the kinship and those who have rights over you, and open a new page with them.”
