Under royal patronage, the Jordanian Public Prosecution will hold, tomorrow, Thursday, its first international conference in cooperation with the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, entitled “Restaurant Justice” in Contemporary Criminal Policy, at the King Hussein Convention Center in the Dead Sea.
Today, Wednesday, the General Secretariat of the Judicial Council said that the conference will be held over a period of three days, with the participation of more than 200 public prosecutors and members of the Public Prosecution Office in Jordan and the participating Arab countries, a number of Arab and foreign experts specialized in the field of restorative justice, and representatives of international organizations.
This conference comes in implementation of the Judicial Council’s plans to strengthen the partnership and the role of the Public Prosecution as an executive body and representative of the public right to support the transition from the concept of traditional criminal justice to the concept of contemporary criminal justice represented in restorative justice based on reconciliation and reconciliation between the parties to the criminal dispute in order to achieve prompt justice and enhance the effectiveness of judicial rulings. To tighten and strengthen community security and stability.
The conference includes multiple discussion sessions covering the issues of restorative justice, its applications and the challenges it faces, in addition to the exchange of expertise and international experiences, which are presented by specialized consultants in this field from various Arab and European countries participating in the conference.
The conference will come up with joint recommendations on a mechanism for strengthening restorative justice and enhancing international cooperation in the various criminal and judicial fields.
