The Foreign Ministry summons the occupation ambassador and delivers a “strongly worded” letter

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates summoned the Israeli ambassador in Amman, this afternoon, Tuesday, to the ministry’s headquarters, after a member of the Israeli occupation police blocked the path of the Jordanian ambassador in Tel Aviv as he entered the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif.
The official spokesman for the ministry, Ambassador Sinan Majali, stated that the Israeli ambassador had been informed of a strongly worded letter of protest to be conveyed immediately to his government. And the Affairs of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque affiliated to the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites is the legal authority with exclusive jurisdiction to manage all the affairs of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif and regulate access to it.
It was also emphasized that Israel, as the occupying power, must comply with its obligations in accordance with international law, especially international humanitarian law, regarding the occupied city of Jerusalem and its sanctities, especially the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif, and refrain from any measures that would prejudice the sanctity of the holy places and put an end to Attempts to change the existing historical and legal status in it, or to prejudice the powers of the Jerusalem Endowments and Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department of the Jordanian Ministry of Endowments, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites.
