The Director of the Meteorological Department, Raed Rafid Al-Khattab, said that Jordan has been affected since last Sunday evening by a state of atmospheric instability that led to rain in most regions, which were sometimes heavy and accompanied by thunder and hail at intervals, which led to the formation of torrential rains in valleys and low-lying areas. .
Al-Khattab added, in a press statement, that the rainfall was concentrated in the southeastern regions, in addition to the city of Aqaba, where the amounts of rain that fell during this weather situation adjusted the current rainy season, with rates ranging from 1 percent to 34 percent.
The Qatraneh monitoring station recorded the highest rainfall during this depression, reaching 35.0 mm, which constitutes 36 percent of the general seasonal average, while the Queen Alia International Airport monitoring station recorded the highest rainfall in the eastern central regions, amounting to 28.0 mm, which constitutes 19 percent of the rain.
