Former MP Musa Al-Wahsh considered that the amendments to the election and parties law for the year 2022 do not meet the ambition, as the difficult birth of parties and the search for a complete number give a negative impression.
Al-Wahsh said in a statement to “Al-Bawsala” that there are difficult births for some parties, as some of them work in the governorates to collect the legally required numbers, but they are surprised by withdrawals, which hinders the formation of the party. There is a feeling that the formation of the party did not reach the required level even in the recent amendments.
He explained that some parties are led by people who had assumed responsibilities in the state and failed in the files they received, which led the country to this stage of slowdown in economic growth and exacerbation of poverty and unemployment figures.
Al-Wahsh pointed out that despite the state of corruption in the era of some personalities and the decline in the standard of living of citizens, they seek to form new parties, which raises astonishment and astonishment, adding, “We are spinning in a vicious circle, and there is no glimmer of light on the horizon.”
The deputy was surprised by what he described as “the complexity in establishing parties,” as in many countries of the world one person can establish a party and the ballot box is the final decision, pointing out that the method used is an outdated method that does not exist in the countries of the world.
He called for the freedom to establish parties and for the ballot boxes to be the arbiter of the strength and ability of these parties to mobilize voters and convince citizens of the programs they offer.
