“The bonds of Arabism are enhanced by sweet attitudes,” thus began the young Jordanian Thaer al-Sharif, expressing his gratitude for what happened to him when his car broke down on the road in New Cairo, which made him stop. In a state of shock, he does not know what to do after midnight, nor how to act in this situation, until one of the taxi drivers appeared to him, who assisted him and even stood with him for nearly two hours until he made sure that the car was fully repaired and moved safely, in a living example of the courage of the Egyptians and our beautiful morals. Which he documented with a post on the social networking site Facebook, which won thousands of likes.
Thaer Al-Urduni: There is no expatriate in Egypt
Thaer, a 33-year-old Jordanian, said that he refuses to refer to non-Egyptians as expatriate, and prefers to be called a visitor, especially because he felt the love and affection he felt on the part of Egyptians for him and others, especially in times of crisis, especially since he is a graduate of an Egyptian university at the Faculty of Mass Communication, and he kept coming to Egypt throughout the study period. As for the situation that happened to him, he said: “I was out of my car in New Cairo and I didn’t want to start at 1 am, and there was no mechanic, and my problem was with a petrol pump, until I met a taxi driver with the same car as my car, and he carried a petrol pump in the trunk by chance.”

The matter appears normal and may happen with anyone, but with a revolutionary, the matter was different, as he said that in any country in the world no one would be able to sacrifice his time and effort to help someone he does not know and is not from his country and at such a late time, and he added: “Without a tool, just a screwdriver.” Ordinary and a broken key, I found him unscrewing the old pump after taking off the chair, and my task was only to hold the flashlight because the world was dark.”
The Car
With great patience and mastery, and for an hour and a half, the Egyptian driver was able to install the new pump, as if it were replacing the power of attorney itself. A vigilant conscience and a polite manner from the gallant driver, who refused to take the repair account, especially after he learned that he was not Egyptian. After insisting, the driver took a symbolic fee, while assuring Thaer that he could repair the old one for less than he expected. He continued: “The old one can be repaired for 450 and take my number.” If you don’t have money around me, then our Lord will relieve your distress, and I am forgiving.”

He added that there are qualities that bring us together as Arabs, especially Egyptians, that appear all the time, especially in adversity and hardships, sincere love and sincere cooperation, so that all of our joy is sincere, and he added: “He did not want to take a pound in his pocket when he knew that I was not Egyptian. Please take 600 pounds and walk in the car behind me until I am assured that my affairs are in order.” He concluded his speech by expressing his love for the Egyptians and the extent of their generosity and concern for their Arab brothers, whatever the circumstances, especially the courage that appears in times of distress with spontaneity and great love.
