The US Embassy warned its citizens in Jordan not to approach places where truck drivers are striking.

The embassy said in a statement on Sunday: “The embassy has learned of reports of individuals protesting, burning tires, and throwing stones at vehicles on the streets and highways in Jordan. Some highways, especially in the south, have experienced temporary closures. These incidents appear to be related to the ongoing truck drivers strike.”

She added, “US government employees are advised to avoid large crowds and protests, to move away from them as quickly as possible, and to detour and seek an alternative route around any road closures.”

The embassy called on its citizens to “avoid large crowds and protests, search for alternative ways around road closures, be aware of their surroundings, monitor local media, and contact the police by calling 911 for help.”
