5 million dinars to develop infrastructure for central markets in Amman and Irbid

In the draft budget law for next year, the government allocated 5 million dinars as new expenditures to develop the infrastructure for two central markets for vegetables and fruits in the governorates of the capital and Irbid.
According to the draft budget, which was reviewed by the “Kingdom”, 3 million dinars were allocated to develop the infrastructure of the Irbid central market, and 2 million dinars to develop the infrastructure of the Amman central vegetable market within the capital projects budget of the Ministry of Local Administration.
The project shows that the total capital and current expenditures of the ministry next year amount to 184 million dinars, 8 million dinars of which are current expenditures.
The capital expenditures were distributed to 155.8 million dinars for ongoing projects, 155 million dinars for the (municipal development and development) project, in addition to 15 million dinars for new projects, in addition to 5.3 million dinars for projects under implementation.
The head of the Greater Irbid Municipality, Nabil Al-Kofhi, discussed last June, with a number of central market traders and investors, the developments of the new central market project to be established, stressing that the municipality has all the capital elements that help it attract the necessary financing to start implementation.
The Assistant Mayor for Planning Affairs, Munther Al-Attar, said that the municipality chose the location of the new central vegetable market in Mafraq Governorate after a study showed that 60% of the products that come to it come from Mafraq, in addition to the proximity of this site to the international borders, pointing out that the establishment of the project is from It would attract new traders from neighboring countries, in addition to increasing the volume of investment.
Al-Attar explained the details of the warehouses, squares and buildings that will be constructed, estimating the total cost of the project at approximately 47 million Jordanian dinars, and that the municipality does not mind splitting it and implementing it in stages, with the aim of starting its operation in the new location and reducing the total cost to reach 30 million dinars in its first phase.
Infrastructure projects
Regarding new projects, the draft law allocated 5 million dinars to the Ministry of Local Administration for infrastructure projects in the governorates that are being spent on through the Cities and Villages Development Bank, in addition to 305 thousand dinars for productive projects in Karak Governorate, 50 thousand dinars for construction and maintenance of buildings in Mafraq Governorate, and 524 thousand dinars. For service projects for the benefit of municipalities in Ma’an Governorate.
The new projects also include opening, expanding and paving roads in Jerash Governorate with allocations of 1.6 million dinars, construction, additions and maintenance of buildings and facilities in Jerash Governorate with allocations of 210 thousand dinars, and service projects for the benefit of municipalities in Ajloun Governorate with allocations of 515 thousand dinars.
It also included a project to establish popular markets and investment stadiums for municipalities in Zarqa Governorate, with allocations amounting to 270,000 dinars, and service projects in Madaba Governorate, with allocations amounting to one million dinars, in addition to service projects in Aqaba Governorate, with allocations amounting to 645,000 dinars.
