Yesterday, Sunday, King Abdullah II congratulated the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, and the Qatari people on the occasion of the opening of the World Cup, stressing his confidence in the ability of the Qatari brothers to make the tournament a success.

The King said in a tweet on his official account on Twitter: “I congratulate my brother, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the brotherly Qatari people, on the beautiful opening activities of the World Cup.”

He added, “We are proud of this Arab achievement in hosting the World Cup, and we are confident in the ability of the Qatari brothers to make this tournament a success and to organize it brilliantly.”
