The Islamic Action Front party denounced the arrest of the security services, a member of the party’s executive office, lawyer Hamad al-Harout, this evening, accompanied by a number of party figures and activists in the Dhiban region, without any legal justification, which constitutes an assault on partisan work and public freedoms guaranteed by the law and the constitution.

The party demanded the immediate release of Al-Harout, who was arbitrarily arrested as part of what the party described as the security approach in dealing with political parties and activists and insulting party leaders.

The party also demanded the release of all the activists who were arrested on the background of their activities in calling for political reform and fighting corruption, and turning the page on political arrests that exacerbate the state of social tension. Among the detainees today were Saad Alaween, Abdul Tawahiyya, Firas Al Tawahiyya, Dr. Hani Al-Azab, Abdullah Al-Yasjeen, Sufian Khreisat, Noha Al-Faouri, Fouad Qubilat, Suwelim Al-Mashaqbeh.
