The governing body specialized in corruption cases at the Amman Penal Court of Peace headed by Judge Dr. Uday Al-Fraihat, director of the Subscriptions and Distribution Department in a public joint stock media company, condemned the crime of abuse of trust and job investment and decided to imprison him for two years and six months and fine him a sum of 500 dinars.

The court issued its decision during a public session held today, Sunday, and decided to compel the convict to pay a sum of money amounting to about 23 thousand dinars, which is the value of the sums he obtained in violation of law and order, a decision that can be appealed before the competent court.

The court decided to convict the defendant of the crime of investing the job and decided to imprison him for a period of 6 months and fees, and convict him of the crime of breach of trust and imprison him for two years and a fine of 500 dinars and fees, and to collect the penalties issued against him so that the enforceable penalty became imprisonment for two years and six months and a fine of 500 dinars, and obligated him to pay the amount Which he obtained, amounting to 22,455 dinars, and including the value of the administrative and judicial expenses that accompanied the case.

The criminalization decision indicated that the employee was working for the media company as director of the newspaper’s subscriptions and distribution department.
The company discovered financial and legal irregularities in the work of the convict, and a committee was formed within the newspaper, which investigated the case and reached decisions, including dismissing him from his job.

The committee found that the convict issued invoices to an office in violation of the law, taking advantage of his position, and received the difference in the amount of money, and repeated his actions several times and obtained the money illegally.

The Public Prosecution charged the convict with two charges of exploiting the job he was working in and breaching the trust, and for his presence outside the country, the court decided to try him in absentia until it concluded his conviction of the crimes attributed to him. (Petra)
