The security forces prevented, on Wednesday evening, a protest stop in front of the British Embassy in Amman, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration.

He called for a stand-up to the National Forum to Support the Resistance and Protect the National, “to demand from the British government recognition of the historical, legal and moral responsibility for the Palestinian people’s catastrophe.”

Attempts by the Secretary-General of the Islamic Action Front Party, Engineer Murad Al-Adayleh, to complete the protest, by contacting the governor of the capital, Yasser Al-Adwan, were unsuccessful, as the security forces asked the crowd to break up the event and leave the place immediately.

The security forces boycotted the speech of Adaileh, who insisted on declaring the event’s position rejecting the Balfour Declaration and asking Britain to apologize for it.

Adaileh expressed his regret at the decision to ban the event, saying, “This contradicts all trends in reviving partisan work in Jordan.”

He added, “Where is the partisan life that they invite us to while preventing a peaceful protest against the Balfour Declaration?”

Last March, it was announced that the “National Forum to Support the Resistance and Protect the Homeland” would be announced, with the participation of a number of political parties, national figures and civil society institutions.

It is worth noting that the British Consulate in Jerusalem also refused, yesterday, Tuesday, to receive a note of protest from the personalities and activists of the Holy City against the position of the British government adhering to the Balfour Declaration on the 115th anniversary of the inauspicious Balfour Declaration, forcing them to put it on the consulate gate.

Munib Rashid al-Masri, head of the National Assembly of Independents, said in a speech in front of the British consulate: “Today we stand in front of the British Consulate to tell Britain, on behalf of the Palestinian people, whose population is 14 million Palestinians, that it committed a crime by announcing the Balfour Declaration, adding that the British Foreign Secretary canceled a letter written by all the rights of the people.” Palestinian.

The 105th anniversary of the ominous “Balfour Declaration”, which Britain gave to the Jews and later established the occupation of Palestine and forcibly expelled its residents from their villages and cities, by force of arms and bloody massacres, and the Palestinians suffer woes as a result of that promise, while refugees abroad suffer from the scourge of being far from Homeland The Palestinians in Gaza suffer from the siege and the wounds of war that do not heal, while the residents of the West Bank suffer from serious military and settlement attacks, and the residents of the areas occupied in 1948 suffer from racial discrimination and bad treatment.

And the “Balfour Declaration” is that letter sent by Arthur James Balfour, British Foreign Secretary on November 2, 1917, to the Jewish Lord Lionel Walter de Rothschild, in which he indicates the British government’s support for the establishment of a “national home for the Jews” in Palestine.

The text of the letter reads: “His Majesty’s Government view with favor the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavors to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of resident non-Jewish communities. in Palestine, nor the rights or political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country.”

At that time, the British government presented the text of the Balfour Declaration to US President Wilson, who approved its content before its publication, so that the Zionist movement considered the promise as a basis to support its demands represented by the establishment of the Jewish state in Palestine, and the realization of the Jewish dream of obtaining a homeland, although this promise The British gave a homeland to the Jews, who are not residents of Palestine, and came from a side that does not have the right to the land of Palestine.

Statistics and figures confirm that at the time of the announcement of the ominous promise, the number of Jews in Palestine was about 5% of the original population, and they registered at that time 50,000 Jews, out of 12 million scattered in the countries of the world, while the population of Palestine was Arabs in that The time is approaching 650,000 citizens, and this promise will tip the scales, by canceling the rights of the majority rooted in the land, in return for a minority that came from abroad through illegal immigration.

The promise represented Britain’s political support for the Jews, after which the British government would work to encourage the immigration of Jews from all over the world to the land of Palestine, and then the Zionist gangs in 1948, with Britain’s help, after ending its occupation of Palestine, launched a war against the defenseless Palestinians, during which dozens of The massacres, using the most powerful weapons, including planes, to expel the Palestinians, who numbered at that time 950,000, to the refugee camps in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, and announce the establishment of their state, which came on the blood of the Palestinians and their rights, and received recognition from Britain and America.

The Palestinians define the memory of the first Israeli occupation as the “Nakba”, the date on which the occupying state seized the largest part of their lands in 1948, after which the occupying state occupied the rest of the land of Palestine in 1967, which is the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and in both wars The occupation forces committed “ethnic cleansing” operations, and many documented massacres, with the help of superpowers, led by Britain, which had issued a promise “who does not own to those who do not deserve.”

This ominous promise established the tragedies that the Palestinians are still living in, and their bitterness increases with the passage of days. The effects of forced displacement are still passed on to generations of refugees, while all Palestinians live because of the occupation, endless tragedies, due to the aggressive policies of the occupation.

This is the painful memory of the Balfour Declaration, and the Israeli occupation forces practice killings and field executions in the West Bank, in addition to continuing to expand settlements and looting lands to establish new settlement units, in addition to approving plans to expel Palestinians from their lands and homes.

As the anniversary comes and the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip continues for the 15th year in a row, during which the occupation forces launched four bloody wars, the effects of which are still present until the moment, especially as it left thousands of martyrs and wounded, in addition to the demolition of thousands of homes and the destruction of farms.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas had referred to the danger of this promise in his recent speech to the United Nations General Assembly, when he accused some countries, including the United States of America, of being a partner in the issuance of the resolutions that caused the Palestinian people’s catastrophe, and the ominous “Balfour Declaration.” , and the mandate instrument, and said that these countries “continued to prejudice the rights of the Palestinian people when they refused to compel Israel to end its occupation and stop its aggression, and to respect the relevant international legitimacy resolutions.” He held these countries responsible with Israel for the plight of the Palestinian people. He called on Britain, America and Israel to recognize their responsibility for what he described as the “great crime” committed against the Palestinian people, to apologize and make reparation for the damage, and to provide compensation to the Palestinian people, which is recognized by international law.

Last year, a Palestinian court announced, after a case was brought to it, the invalidity of the “Balfour Declaration,” and confirmed that it violates the peremptory rules of international law. And the violations committed by Britain during its occupation of Palestine, and after that decision was issued by the Palestinian court, the Palestinians who filed the lawsuit resorted to contracting with a law firm in London, to try Britain, to give it the “Balfour Declaration” to the Jews.
