Shawarbeh stresses the necessity of completing the studies of the second phase of the “rapid” bus

The Mayor of Amman, Dr. Yousef Al-Shawarbeh, stressed the need to complete the studies of the second phase of the fast-frequency bus project in the required time and to ensure the completion of the work stages within a clear executive program that achieves the provision of quality public transport services to the people of Amman.

This came during his participation in a workshop held by the Secretariat in cooperation with partners from the World Bank to review the studies and preliminary designs for the fast-frequency bus project / the second phase, which includes three main tracks with a length of 41 km.

The first lane of the second phase of the fast-frequency bus extends from Sweileh Roundabout to Naour Bridge, passing through King Abdullah II Street and the Eighth Roundabout, with a length of 15.5 km.

The second route extends 15.5 kilometers from Naour Bridge to the passenger terminal, passing through Al-Quds, Al-Hurriya, Prince Hassan and Al-Yarmouk Streets. The third route extends 10 kilometers from the Customs Roundabout towards the Madaba intersection, passing through the Khraibet Al-Souq area.

According to the Executive Director of Public Transport and Transport Infrastructure, Eng. Riyadh Al-Kharabsheh, the Amman Municipality with international consultants, in cooperation with the World Bank, has completed preliminary technical studies and designs, as well as preparing bid documents for detailed studies and designs for the project.

Representatives from the World Bank, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, the Ministry of Transport and the Land Transport Regulatory Authority will participate in the workshop, which is being held at the Hussein Cultural Center.
