The union activist, Maysara Malas, called for allowing the entry of special quantities of olive oil produced in the occupied West Bank for personal use.

Malas said in a post on his Facebook account, “A dear friend asked me to raise a public issue related to preventing the import of olive oil from abroad.
He drew my attention to the fact that there is oil that comes from the West Bank in Palestine, which is eagerly awaited by a good sector of Jordanian citizens, firstly because it comes as a gift from their families in Palestine and is usually from the product of land they own there and secondly because many of these people may not have a price Oil tank.
Of course, the officials in our country have the right to preserve the national product, but I do not think that they are unable to find a solution to allow the entry of gifts or quantities for personal use, not commercial quantities. I do not think that these quantities that come from west of the river for non-trade purposes affect the price of the local product.”

And he pointed out at the end of the publication, “A decision is issued in some seasons to allow the entry of one flavor, but it is not enough to allow one flavor to cover a family’s expenses for an entire season.
