Queen Letizia of Spain looked as elegant as ever in a dark red dress as she and her husband attended the annual meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Instituto Cervantes at the Royal Palace of Araganges.

She and King Philip VI smiled as they shook hands with guests at one of their official residences, according to Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper.

Queen Letizia, 50, appeared elegantly in a dark red dress, complemented her look with delicate accessories, and wore beige heels, which gave her a special elegance, while her husband, King Philip, wore an elegant gray suit.

According to its website, the institute was created “to promote globally the teaching, study and use of the Spanish language and to contribute to the spread of Spanish culture abroad”.

The Daily Mail reported that many representatives of cultural institutions were present at the event, which it described as solemn.

The publication also stated that the King had awarded the Ñ Prize to Italian and Spanish linguist Gabriel Morelli, for his work in the dissemination of Spanish literature.

Created last year, the award aims to celebrate work in the Spanish language and culture by those who do not have a native language.

It comes as Letizia looked elegant in a blue skirt and white blouse when she stepped out for a public event in Madrid last week.

The Queen was in attendance for the closing ceremony of the 14th Call for Social Enterprise “Euros de tu Nómina”, an initiative by Santander to promote projects that improve society.

It was after an intense week for Queen Elizabeth, who traveled to London for the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth and then headed to New York.
