The prices of jewellery and jewelry, locally, have fallen to the lowest level since May 2020, according to the head of the General Syndicate of Owners of Jewelery and Jewelery Trade and Crafting, Rebhi Allan.

Allan said, on Monday, that the selling price of a gram of 21 carat gold in the local market was 34.10 dinars from the goldsmiths’ shops.

The selling price of one gram of gold, 24 and 18 karat, for the purposes of buying from goldsmiths’ shops, was at 40.50 and 30.20 dinars.

The price of gold fell on Monday, under the pressure of the dollar’s rise, as investors prepared for a significant increase in interest rates expected from the US Federal Reserve and other central banks this week to reduce inflation.

And gold fell in spot transactions 0.8% to $ 1661.65 an ounce.
