The Council of Ministers began its session today, Sunday, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, through video communication technology, by reciting Al-Fatihah on the souls of the victims of the “Al-Weibdeh Building” accident in the capital Amman last week.
The Prime Minister expressed his and the Cabinet’s deepest condolences to the families of the victims and their families, stressing that “we lost a dear group of the sons and daughters of the country during this painful accident.
He said, “This painful affliction afflicted all of us as Jordanians, as it afflicted the families of the victims and the injured; Because, in this country, we are one cohesive, united and interdependent body.”
The Prime Minister commended all the efforts that were made from the moment of the accident until the completion of the search and evacuation operations, especially the tremendous efforts made by the civil defense teams over the 85 hours, under difficult conditions and in a challenging geographical location; Because it is located in a crowded and sloping residential area.
He pointed out that he arrived at the site of the accident within a short time of its occurrence, as officials, the competent authorities and the relevant agencies rushed to deal with this accident, which confirms the rapid response of all cadres in the evacuation and rescue operations.
Al-Khasawneh added: The national effort that was made during the rescue, evacuation and ambulance operations for the survivors of the rescue crews who continued day and night under difficult conditions, and from all institutions, competent authorities and volunteers, deserves salutations and praise.
He pointed out that the Public Prosecutor is currently conducting investigations to find out the causes of this tragic accident, stressing that the responsibility determined by the judicial investigation, for everyone whose responsibility will be proven will be held accountable according to the law, by the impartial Jordanian judiciary, which will determine who is responsible for this tragic accident.
