And he indicated, in an interview with the Jordan News Agency (Petra), that 50 percent of the customs tariff is exempt, and 43 percent of it is subject to a 5 percent fee, while 7 percent is subject to 15 and 25 percent, which often includes industries and products that have a local alternative in a move to protect the product. the local.

Qudah stressed that the department, in the current stage, attaches great importance to the project of the National Trade Window, to facilitate the safe international trade movement, promote investment, and improve government services directed to the community through the application of mechanisms linking local, regional and international trade, and allowing flexibility for logistics services in accordance with international best practices without prejudice to oversight actors.
And he indicated that this project is a platform for providing data and information once, for the purpose of managing, exchanging and processing them synchronously, and making unified decisions to ensure clearance and release processes in the supply chain, in an organized manner to support the implementation of transactions between the concerned parties, in line with laws, regulations and legislative tools and a unified government interface for all procedures government related to import and export operations.
Qudah added that the national window aims to improve Jordan’s position in international reports, increase the competitiveness of the national economy, including the competitiveness of the port of Aqaba, remove duplication and conflict between government departments and unify their functions, reduce the burden of government and customs procedures and increase their efficiency, reach effective national risk management, and reduce time Release merchandise, reduce cost, and enhance integrity and transparency for all parties.
Regarding the stages of implementing the National Trade Window, the judges stated that the project began to be implemented at Aqaba Customs, within several stages: the first is transit data at the Aqaba Customs Center, the second is data from the Passenger Ships Terminal / Aqaba (goods coming from Nuweiba / Egypt), followed by the customs tariff chapters 01 -20 for Aqaba customs data, and the fifth stage was to complete all chapters of customs tariffs 51-99 for Aqaba customs data, and then the project was implemented in customs centers at Clearance Airport, Al Omari, Jaber, Amman, and the Jordan Valley Crossing.
He pointed out that the department’s strategic plan looks at expanding the application of the national window according to the plan of the current year, to include its application in customs centers: Al-Hassan Industrial City crossing in Barbid, Hurra Al-Zarqa – vehicles, and the Jordanian-Syrian free zone, in addition to studying the possibility of applying the national window in city centers. Qualified industrial companies, and start the launch of the national export unit, which works to complete all export data.
The number of customs data registered under the umbrella of the National Trade Window amounted to 435,860 customs declarations during the past year in the customs centers of Aqaba, Clearance Airport, Al Omari, and Jaber, which were completed by the Customs Department and all other departments on the window platform, with accuracy and speed that ensured the continued flow of the supply chain, with an increase of nearly 20 percent over the previous year.
During the first half of this year, about 220,000 customs declarations were dealt with efficiently and effectively by customs and other departments in Aqaba customs centers, clearance airport, Omari and Jaber, and the national window reduced the number of annual customs pledges, and the consequent increase in complaints. And problems, by 75%, by re-examining its objectives and relying on computerized systems to control procedures.
The electronic messaging system was implemented through the global ASYCUDA system, which is a system for all operations within the national trade window, to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the procedures related to the correspondence operations between the parties to the customs process during the completion of customs data, and it also accelerated and facilitated the process of communication between customs officials, clearance companies and shipping agents.
