A British man was taken to the emergency room on Monday, after he was struck by lightning while playing video games in his living room.

Aiden Rowan was playing video games on his PlayStation when he heard a crackling sound followed by a “severe tremor,” according to the New York Post.

Rawan, 33, wrote to his Instagram followers: “I had to share this because of how crazy it is, 5 hours in hospital confirmed I was struck by lightning through the open window, never playing during a thunderstorm again, burning streaks on my arm “.

“It took about a minute to get back to my senses, and I was so confused, I went upstairs and asked my wife for a wet towel because I didn’t know what had happened but my arms were burning,” Rowan said.

And last August, four people were seriously injured after being struck by lightning in Lafayette Square in Washington, DC, in front of the White House, and Vito Maggiolo, a spokesman for the Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services in the capital, said that the wounded – two males and two women – were taken to area hospitals due to life-threatening injuries. This is according to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”.

The four people were struck by lightning near a tree yards from the fence surrounding the presidential residence and offices, Maggiolo said, and the US park police, who are regularly present in the field, went to help the victims immediately, while officials have not yet identified the injured where the Park Police is currently investigating the accident.

Maggiolo said it was possible that the four people found in the accident tried to seek shelter under the nearby tree when the storm passed just before 7 p.m..
