A memorandum of understanding and joint cooperation was signed between the Jordanian Bar Association, represented by its president, Yahya Abu Aboud, and the Supreme Islamic Commission in Jerusalem, represented by its president, Sheikh Dr. Ikrima Sabri.

The agreement included strengthening efforts to support the steadfastness of Jerusalemites and preserve the identity of Jerusalem and its sanctities. This memorandum started from the principled and basic position of the two parties, considering that the Zionist occupation is an angry entity for Palestine and Jerusalem, and that the legitimate, historical and religious rights of the Palestinians are immutable and are not subject to compromise and are not answered by the passage of time, no matter how much.

At the top of these efforts comes the support of Jerusalem lawyers in documenting the crimes of the occupation in Jerusalem and following them up at the international level, providing legal support and training, and preparing specialized legal studies that confirm that the religious, legal and historical rights of Jerusalemites are the full right and that the allegations and slanders of the Zionists are pure falsehood.

The attribution includes professional and legal documentation of violations at the level of arbitrary detention affecting the citizens of Jerusalem and the guards and employees of holy sites and endowments, as well as at the level of violating holy sites, finding mechanisms to establish the rights of Jerusalemites in their individual and collective property, and seeking to collect and highlight the available historical documents.

The memo included seeking to organize safe mechanisms to preserve real estate and prevent its diversion to suspicious parties.

It is worth noting that the Jordanian Bar Association has firm and well-established positions in resisting normalization and that it punishes those who practice normalization with the Zionist enemy and interfere in the diversion of Palestinian lands with disciplinary penalties that reach the final expungement from the union’s records.

In the past, the Syndicate issued a circular obligating lawyers not to organize agencies and agreements related to the sale of land in Palestine.

The memorandum also included the formation of a joint committee to develop a detailed program for the implementation of this memorandum.
