King directs to provide all forms of assistance to those affected by the “Al Weibdeh Building” accident

King Abdullah II stressed the need to provide all forms of assistance to families affected by the collapse of a building in Al Weibdeh area, and to provide the necessary health care for the injured.

While presiding over a meeting at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management upon his return to the homeland on Wednesday, the King continued efforts to rescue the besieged, expressing his condolences to the families of the victims in this tragic accident, and his wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.

He stressed the importance of educating citizens about how to deal with old buildings, and the use of engineering supervision with regard to buildings, pointing out the importance of the role of the media in this regard.

During the meeting, which was attended by Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, the King’s advisor, head of the National Policy Council, and Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, head of the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, the King listened to a briefing by Prime Minister Dr. Responding to provide the necessary care for the affected families.

The Director of Public Security, Major General Obaidullah Al-Maaytah, gave a briefing in which he dealt with the duties and tasks carried out by the civil defense teams and public security cadres, noting that the evacuation and rescue efforts are continuing around the clock.

Al-Maaytah confirmed that the specialized civil defense teams isolated the area as soon as the accident was reported, and evacuated the site from citizens to ensure public safety.

The King expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the various relevant authorities, especially the civil defense teams, who continue their tasks efficiently and professionally.
